Park Renewal Day Sponsors City of Decatur | Active Living Div. Renewal Design-Build | The Choice for Green Renovation in Decatur

About Park Renewal Day

Founded in 2008, Park Renewal Day helps to raise awareness about invasive plants and bring the community to rejuvenate our shared green space.

Did you know that invasive plant species like Chinese privet and English ivy are taking over our community parks by strangling and crowding out native plants?

The Objective

Renewal Design-Build, along with DeKalb County Parks, DeKalb County Greenspace, and the City of Decatur, call on neighbors like you to help save our precious green spaces. Teammates work together to clear their plots of invasive species and debris, competing against other teams.

The Competition

Teams compete for prize money by uprooting invasive plants in one of our local community parks. Officials from DeKalb County and the City of Decatur will judge the quality and quantity of work done to each group’s designated work space.
